Practical kitchen advice for real households
Welcome to Sianah’s Kitchen Guide, a kitchen-only website focused on practical buying guides, product comparisons, kitchen explainers, and how-to articles for everyday cooking.
This site exists to help you make smarter decisions about kitchen appliances, tools, and gadgets without wading through endless marketing claims or overly technical reviews.
Why this site exists
I created Sianah’s Kitchen Guide because I kept seeing the same problem: people buying kitchen products that look impressive online but do not work well in real kitchens.
Some reviews focus on features, not on everyday use. They do not talk about:
- How much counter space an appliance actually takes.
- Whether it is easy to clean or becomes a burden. (I have a few at home collecting dust.)
- Who it truly suits and who should skip it.
- Whether the price is justified for the way you cook.
I wanted a kitchen site that focuses on practical questions:
- Is this actually worth buying?
- Will this fit my kitchen, the way I cook, or how I cook?
- What will annoy me after a few months?
- Which option makes sense for my household size and budget?
My background
I am a novelist turned blogger, a wife, and a mom of three boys. I have been cooking for 25+ years, baking for 15+ years, and creating things from my kitchen for over 15 years. That everyday kitchen experience—feeding a family, managing meal prep, and learning what actually works—shapes the way I approach kitchen content. Let’s just say, I find the kitchen to be one of the most important place in a home
I am Liberian, and my approach to food and home life reflects that background. They are practical, resourceful, and focused on what truly serves the household.
How I evaluate products
When I recommend kitchen products, I consider:
- Capacity and whether it fits real meals.
- Counter space and storage requirements.
- Cleaning and maintenance effort.
- Temperature control and cooking performance.
- Ease of use and learning curve.
- Price and long-term value.
- Who the product suits and who should avoid it.
Products I have personally used are identified as first-hand picks. Other products are clearly presented as research-based recommendations based on manufacturer information, product documentation, published specifications, manuals, and independent research.
What you will find here
Sianah’s Kitchen Guide focuses on:
- Kitchen buying guides for appliances and tools.
- Product comparisons that help you choose between options.
- Kitchen explainers that answer common questions.
- How-to guides for cleaning, using, and maintaining kitchen products.
- Troubleshooting guides for common kitchen problems.
You will not find:

My approach to affiliate links
This website participates in affiliate programmes. If you purchase through one of these links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
I only recommend products I would genuinely consider for my own kitchen or that meet the evaluation criteria explained on this site. I do not recommend products solely because they pay a commission.
Editorial standards
I aim to create content that is:
- Helpful and practical for real kitchens.
- Accurate and clearly sourced where relevant.
- Transparent about what is personally used and what is research-based.
- Updated when products change or new information becomes available.
If you notice outdated information or have suggestions, you can contact me using the contact page.
How my two sites fit together
I run two separate websites, each with a clear focus:
Sianah’s Kitchen Guide (this site)
Does not include recipes, DIY beauty, or broader lifestyle content.
Sianah DeShield Women’s Lifestyle Blog (my lifestyle blog)
My lifestyle blog, Sianah DeShield Women’s Lifestyle Blog, is where I share:
- DIY beauty and body-care recipes I have created over the years.
- Tips for making your own products at home.
- Insights from creating and selling my own DIY products.
- Home organisation, and practical lifestyle advice.
You can find it at: https://sianahdeshield.com
The two sites complement each other: one focuses on the kitchen, the other on broader home, beauty, and self-care topics.
